Visual Recall 4
Burlesque Trailer; 2mins34secs
Number of Edits; 100+
Types of edits; A range of edits to match the background music of trailer
- Fade ins and black outs which match jumps in the music, speeds up the pace
- Jump cuts between shots to show parts of the storyline from different viewpoints
- Fade through was used to join one shot of text into a shot of scenery, so the text was still seen along with the next establishing shot
- One edit was a flash and black out which resembled a camera taking a photo, this is accompanied by a diegetic sound of a camera shooting a picture.
Aural Recall 7
EastEnders Trailer; 1min01secs
Diegetic sound of boots as Kat walks, wind blowing, bag dropping to the ground
Cynical high pitch xylophone plays as background music
Then as the camera pans up towards Kat's face, music intensifies with orchestral cowboy type music. Guitar strumming to increase suspense
Diegetic sound of Janine's laugh, until she sees Kat, then guitar plays louder and strumming speeds up.
Dialogue of man looking through blinds saying "Blooming 'eck"
Exaggerated diegetic sound of flip mirror opening
Kat uses dialogue "Where do you get a drink round 'ere?"
Then a diegetic sound but not seen who is talking, is deep and emphasised, due to the deep voice of someone saying "I think you're gonna need one"
Then typical spanish guitar music plays to lighten the mood, yet still intense.
A voiceover is then used to tell the viewer "It's all kicking off in the square" followed by the theme tune for EastEnders (Do-do-do-do-dododododo) :)
